In 1990 ROUTEBURN won a successful bid to purchase the Monastery of the Precious Blood located at 774 Echo Drive. This unique and handsome structure was built in 1923 and enjoys a commanding presence in its park-like setting, high on a bluff, overlooking the historic Rideau Canal.
The building has been beautifully and sensitively renovated as the new national headquarters of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. ROUTEBURN was honoured by the City of Ottawa with an Award of Excellence for the adaptive re-use of this remarkable building.
